In order to provide you Road Skippers service we need some app permissions. Specifically:
- Identity to find, add or remove Road Skipper account on the device:
it allows to create a special Road Skippers account on the phone to make the app experience user-friendly; - Contacts to find accounts on the device:
it allows Road Skippers to identify whether Facebook account is already on the phone - again having Facebook signup/login makes user experience better; - Location to precisely locate you (GPS and network-based):
it is required to record your trips; - Phone to read phone status and identity.
As Road Skippers checks whether one talks on the phone while driving, it needs to identify when the call happens. That’s it. - Photos/Media/Files to read the contents of your USB storage, and to modify or delete the contents of your USB storage:
Road Skippers allows you to have a profile picture. That is why Road Skippers needs to store and access it; - Storage to read the contents of your USB storage, and modify or delete the contents of your USB storage:
Road Skippers records the trip on the phone and sends it to the server every minute. Road Skippers also works in the offline mode and then the whole trip data is stored on the phone and send out to the server when there is an internet connection available. That is why Road Skippers needs to access storage; - Device ID & call information to read phone status and identity:
It is required for user identification in order to provide user support and send app feedback.
